Zoe Joyes

Qualified

Zoe is a qualified Psychodynamic therapist and registered member of BACP. She works with a wide range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship breakdown, loss and bereavement. At The Therapy Clinic Zoe primarily offers open ended therapy. However, she also has considerable experience of providing short term counselling in University settings using both psychodynamic and solution focussed approaches.

Before qualifying as a therapist Zoe worked in higher education supporting those who have experienced harassment, discrimination and sexual violence and also spent time volunteering for the Samaritans. She also worked in mental health and homeless accommodation based services supporting those who have experienced trauma, abuse, addiction, depression and anxiety. This work with vulnerable adults in distress meant that Zoe gained insight into how our earliest experiences can shape the ways in which we relate and this subsequently led to the motivation to train as a therapist.

Zoe seeks to tailor her approach to the individual needs of the client, aiming to provide a safe therapeutic space where complex thoughts and feelings can be explored. She works collaboratively with her clients, helping them to use the therapeutic relationship as an opportunity for change and growth.
