Kate is a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor with over 400 hours of clinical experience. She is also a qualified social worker with over 18 years experience in mental health services both in the NHS and private sector where she worked with people experiencing acute distress.
As part of her role within the NHS she also co- facilitated a therapeutic process group for women who had experienced significant trauma.
Since qualifying as a counsellor Kate has gained experience in working with people who have a wide range of presenting issues. Her counselling approach is both psychodynamic and relational and based on the recognition that providing a safe environment is integral to change and enables people to explore and work through their emotional distress.
Kate works collaboratively with her clients to explore how past experiences affect the here and now and to enable change that can be both necessary and positive.
