Annabel Haynes

Qualified

Annabel is a qualified psychodynamic therapist and member of BACP. She offers open ended therapy, enabling clients to feel supported in exploring their lives, inner states, and feelings. This often involves using the therapeutic relationship to help clients think about how their past experiences may continue to affect the present, and to enable them to find ways of managing the ongoing impact of memories, histories, and patterns in their present and future lives.

Although Psychodynamic Therapy is rooted in the idea of exploring the links between past and present experiences Annabel’s approach in practice is flexible and client led. If a client prefers to maintain a primary focus on life in the now rather than in depth exploration of the past then she will adapt her approach accordingly —whatever a client would like to talk about is respected and welcome.

Annabel has a background in writing and literature and she has a particular interest in people’s stories and the meanings stored within them :- an interest which she brings to her work as a therapist. She has experience of working with a diverse range of clients and the various issues, questions, or desires that might bring them to therapy including depression & anxiety; relationship struggles; trauma; illness and pain; grief and loss; or wanting to explore self-esteem; aspects of identity; or change and development.
