Alex Teodorescou, Psychodynamic Therapist, The Therapy Clinic Brighton

Alex Teodorescu

Qualified

Alex is a fully accredited UKCP and BACP-registered psychodynamic therapist, with experience in both time-limited and open-ended counselling, within the public and private sectors.

Alex’s work centres around understanding our relationships with those closest and around us, and the roles we take when we interact with them.

Alex has worked with a variety of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, cultural issues, relationships and self esteem, and follows an LGBTQ+ affirmative approach. She has vast experience of working in teaching with young adults and adults of different cultures and backgrounds, which makes her practice sensitive to issues that may arise due to feelings of difference and otherness.

Alex believes that we are in relationship with others from the moment we are born, and interactions with others form who we become later in life. Sometimes relationships deteriorate or break and we can be left with questions about our role in the world. Working therapeutically can increase awareness of where we see ourselves in relation to others and of what steps we can take to break patterns of behaviour that may have become hurtful.
